The stressful "last few days" referred to in the comic were published out of order, and can be found here and here.
It'll all make sense in the reprint book...
I'd also like to give a big plug for Cafepress here. I did in fact order two mugs but one of them arrived with the handle broken. I emailed Cafepress and their wonderful customer service immediately sent out a replacement with no fuss at all.
