The joke here depends on you knowing that a fan-created comic in Japan is called a doujinshi, and having heard of Dan Brown's best selling novel and movie The Da Vinci Code. At least one person I told about this didn't know enough about the Dan Brown story to get the joke, although he knew what a doujinshi was. Which just goes to show the sort of people I know.
